Together, we can end elephant captivity in Switzerland.

The ELE campaign has already helped bring elephant captivity in Argentina to an end. With your support, we can work towards the same goal in Switzerland.

There are several ways you can help:

Raise awareness and share

The first step is to raise awareness of the reality of elephant captivity. Share information from this campaign on social media and with friends and family. An informed public can help pave the way for change.

Support the campaign

Fondation Franz Weber is committed to long-term action, including scientific research, legal analysis, field investigations, public awareness and dialogue with the authorities. Your financial support allows us to continue this work. Please consider making a donation.

Contact zoos and authorities

Zoos and authorities need to recognise that public attitudes are changing. You can ask them to take action and call for:
  • an end to breeding elephants in captivity;
  • an end to transfers of elephants between zoos;
  • immediate improvements to current living conditions;
  • the development of sanctuary solutions for elephants currently held in captivity;
  • the gradual phasing out of elephant captivity in Swiss zoos;
  • greater financial investment by zoos in in-situ conservation programmes for vulnerable species.

Make a Donation

Every contribution helps us protect the wellbeing and dignity of elephants, promote sanctuary solutions and advance an approach based on respect for their biological, psychological and social needs.
Because no elephant should spend its life surrounded by concrete walls.
